How to train your agent

Connecting an agent to your inbox or your codebase takes minutes. Getting it to sound like you, follow your team's judgment calls, and know when to escalate takes something closer to onboarding.

The method that's worked best for us is simple: give the agent one real task, watch what it produces, and correct exactly one thing at a time. Agents that get five corrections at once tend to average them into mush. Agents that get one clear correction tend to actually learn the rule.

Write down the corrections that matter — tone, escalation thresholds, who to loop in on what — and treat that list as living documentation. It's the closest thing to a performance review your agent will ever need.
